A pretty UNFORTUNATE day *sigh*

'Unfortunate' is a mild word actually. 'Damned' is more like it. *sigh* I have a practical sesh this morning at 7am in the morning. It is one that I was looking forward to too. Guess what happened . . I totally missed it!! I had set the alarm at 5 something and 6am. I literally woke up and turn the bloody alarm off and go back to sleep again! The next thing I knew, the brightness of the room woke me up at it was 7.30am! I panicked and swore all sorts of words I don't really wanna mention. I even woke Santi up with all my swearing. She got all surprised thinking something major was happening. Sorry for that. I don't even bother to do anything else, get dressed and Santi called the cab for me and I zoomed off to campus. Got there at about 7.50am and ran all the way to the Walled Garden to find that the door was locked. Then it hit me, the reality of missing the practical, BAM! another round of swearing and I just bugger off to the library. On my way, I found a dead jay (a bird) near the pond area. Don't really know what to do with it, it was lying on the rocky floor so I just transferred it to a grassy one. Then got to the library, still pissed off! at myself of course to find out that the internet was down! And my next lecture won't be on till 2pm! Only Allah know how I felt that time. And I spent £11 for the cab and for what?? Nothing!! Man, I feel like kicking myself! but I got over it now . . . -ish at least. Nothing can be done anyways.

Ok that's the worst of it, now for the good bit. Sorry got a lil' bit carried away there. So we had a bee hive demo at about 3pm today. It was really good. And good news is no one got stung lol. And we were told about the field trips next year afterwards. I didn't know that we have to decide now basically, when all the tests and works are all clustered together boohoo.. I need to meet up with my tutor and discuss about it. I should e-mail him soon.

Ok updates of what I have been doing for the past few days. I have posted up pictures on facebook so everyone I know Knows what I have been up to. But for the sake of updating I'll just comment on some pictures here :D

We accomplished something that Sunday. We didn't plan to actually go to Maenporth as it looks really far from the map. We just followed the path and enjoyed the view, which was AWESOME. And there we are lol. Got super duper tired though. Especially our feet were in pain.

Mm what else, I went to Tehidy yesterday for my field trip. Won't say that it was a hell lot of fun cause it wasn't really, but the view was amazing. Maybe I'm getting used to all these nature stuff. Not that I've seen everything all there is to see. But it was our last field trip out so just enjoy it while it lasted lol.. time for some collection and real work.

Tehidy Country Park

Oh yeah I forgot, I did the test on Tuesday and got 78% yay! lol it wasn't that great to celebrate but good enough to get a solid First :D I think I haven't mentioned about my poster score from last time, I got 69%, bummer! Just One more would earn me my First class *sigh* I hope the total in the end would earn me a First for BIO1410 from last term.

Got a test tomorrow on IDs and bird songs, I'll listen to them all night and hopefully they'll stick in my head for at least a day lol. Till next time! 

Busy week

Heck I wasn't that busy but I was actually.. This was my schedule, there were a few more addition to the events lined up.

Those are basically the essential stuffs, the additions are the extra-curricular you can say, from Ecosoc and guest lectures.

The flowers above was taken Thursday I think. Cause we finish at 3pm that day so I decided to have a walk around campus and take some photos of the flowers blooming. I wasn't that interested at first but Mom and Dad wanted to see them since it's spring - yes people, it's already SPRING!! :D The start of life after the harsh cold winter :P lol

It was really weird to find this right in the middle of nowhere, the Goonhilly Heathland area. It looks like a cell ruin. That's what I heard at least. I didn't have the guts to actually go in a bit deeper to see the cell room  if it really is one. To give an excuse for myself it was a dark alley and I was wandering around there all by myself - got a bit bored waiting for the demonstrators to identify the grasses, so I went for a little walk.

We went to the Lizard again for our weekly field trip on Wednesdays. Maybe I should've put these pictures first before the flowers to go by date but oh well, am too lazy to change them lol. It was such a sunny sunny day! But the winds of course won't change. We were supposedly gonna be able to see some Choughs - a black bird that had been successfully been reintroduced there. But we only see Jackdaws and Crows, which are also black birds, so it was kinda frustrating. Our demonstrator Paul decided to do some 'Chough sight hunt' and a small group of us went with him to go over the area where they are nesting. It was quite a walk - a HIKE to be exact. Bad news was we didn't see any Choughs, not that we actually reach the breeding site since we don't have that much time before heading back to Campus. Good news was I get to see more of the Lizard and I got some photos for my collection :D And we were told last Friday that the deadline won't be end of March, but end of APRIL!! YAY!! I was stressed as I won't have enough time to make my collection pop out if the deadline wasn't changed. I hope I'll be able to now.

And then yesterday, I went to Penzance for the Marine Life rescue Training.

It was AWESOME! I didn't know what to expect really. It just sounded interesting at first so I signed up for it. It was well worth it! I also bought a wetsuit specifically for this, for 20 quid lol. And to sum up the whole thing, we were given a certificate for the completion of the training. What more can you ask?? Excellent day it was. To make it better, Shamsa's dad came to visit last night as he was around europe for some business so might as well pop in here for a bit, and he took us all out for dinner at an indian restaurant called Asha restaurant in Falmouth, which is really sweet of him. I wasn't gonna go cause I was a bit dizzy from the cold sea maybe but I took some panadol and deal with it lol. Had some 'chicken Tikka' and 'nan breads' with curry, yum~ No regrets there. He's only here to visit for a bit. He already went to London this morning but it was nice to meet him last night.

As for today, me and Santi will have a walk to Swanpool and the Pendennis Castle :D And the weather looks promising. So yeah will update again soon-ish. Got a test on Tuesday and no class on Monday - time for revision, I know it's a last minute one again but I did try the mock exam questions so it'll be alright ;) Adios~

Carn Marth!

Heya~ Haven't been posting lately. I was just too tired from Uni and when I get back I just wanna lie down and watch a couple of movies. Have been watching a lot of them, I watched King's Speech just last night. It is a good movie, you can relate to what he's going through. To those who haven't, I would recommend that you do. ^^

So we went to Carn Marth last Wednesday. I was such a pretty place! Too bad it was really cold when we got there. EXTREMELY at that. It was like an assessment thing where we have to identify species on our own with our groups and present a species list to hand in by today. And so we did :D Identified about 102 species! Ok I only know like the basic ones, most of them were ID-ed by my group mates. But hey at least I'm getting better at the ID-ing bit ;p

Thankfully the sun was out near noon so we get to feel warm in the end. It was a good trip. Would love to go there again when the flowers are in bloom ^^

Yesterday, nothing much was going on. Me and my group did the species list in the IT room and I went to the Exeter award thing - "Planning your CV" talk. It was ok-ish. Wasn't that interactive but a lot of useful information though and handouts of the examples of a good CV.

Then today, same-o same-o ; lectures, the walk and the debrief on previous trips. There was like an international thingy in the stannary though. Tiqah was in charge of the Bruneian booth there. I went there and help out a bit. There was a flag-painting booth next to us and the African Booth the booth after. The African Booth was really going well. They cooked African food and sell them and they put on African music and such.  Would love to try the food but they're not halal nor vegetarian so too bad. We only have like 'kuih sapit' to offer. Would be really good if we had prepared like our traditional foods and such. But it was great all the same. Got Brunei's flag painted on me :DD

I love it. The person at the booth next to us did it - Susan I think her name. It was really detailed, the red emblem I mean. She did a really good job. Of course she graduated with a 'Fine Arts' degree so of course she'd be talented.

Oh I forgot, I didn't go to the Nocturnal walk in the end. Cause I won't get transport back home and I have a field trip at 9am the next morning so I decided not to. Hmm I asked Sally (the one organizing the volunteering  works) to contact me if someone bailed out from the Monkey Sanctuary volunteering tomorrow. So I might be going there tomorrow with Tiqah. Hopefully she messaged me really early cause I need to catch the bus so we'll see how it goes. Till next time~ *needing a break from uni :p*
